About Us:

Bruna Beef Genetics is located on the northern border of the Kansas Flint Hills about 40 miles North of Manhattan Kansas, on the banks of the Little Blue River.  Owned and operated since 1856 by the Bruna Family, currently operated by Kenneth & Barbara Bruna, along with Lance & Rebecca, Taylor, and Madison Bruna.  Our herd of about 100 Charolais 30 Angus, along with 100 commercial cows run on native, brome and prairie, where we need about 5 to 8 acres to handle a cow.   Our cows are wintered on stalks, provided protein and minerals and are expected to maintain weight and flesh.  Our cattle have to keep themselves, as we live off the cattle, not the other way around.

At Bruna Beef, Our Goals are simple, to help our customers find additional value in profitability, enhance their marketing opportunities, help them utilize the latest available technology, provide management assistance when asked and provide an outstanding customer service program.

Our Program is based on solid beef principles, utilizing performance and carcass data to help provide our customers with a solid, profitable, end product that requires minimal inputs and produces maximum outputs. Our Program is based on our cows and their ability to operate in the “Real World”  The ability of our cows to bred fast, calve a live calf, wean a live calf, and bred back fast, is what makes our program work. 

Our Responsibility is to provide our customers with a commercial based, performance driven, carcass tested, genetically enhanced end product that requires minimal maintenance and human interference while producing maximum outputs.   Cattle that will help our customers stay in the cattle business.
